The Noél Monique Shorten and Jason Tyrell Stewart, II Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 to assist promising students in fulfilling their educational passion shared with Noél. It is through the tragedy of their premature death that Noél and Jason’s family and friends found strength and courage to preserve their legacy by creating a memorial scholarship fund. The duty of its recipients is to create a long legacy of scholars who will follow Noél’s example and achieve goals and dreams that Noél or Jason was not given the opportunity to attain.
To enable students with career aspirations in the culinary arts to achieve their goals through higher education or to pursue their chosen field at the college level in the memory of Noél and Jason.
This scholarship, in the amount of $1,000.00, is awarded to a highly deserving high school senior on the basis of academic merit, good character, service to others and/or financial needs. The funds will be awarded in $500.00 increments per semester.
